Manning & Manning becomes Bryan Manning Bespoke

Thank you for visiting the Manning and Manning website. After over fifty years in the business I have decided to shut the original company down in order to make room for other life pursuits and adventures.

My passion for tailoring and the impact of a beautifully bespoke suit for the wearer has not diminished over the years. I started my career as an apprentice in 1952 working for tailoring artisans Kilgour French and Stanbury who dressed Cary Grant and Fred Astaire among others. Having completed my apprenticeship, I carried on working for Kilgour’s as a coat-maker and later as an assistant cutter for the firm. In 1960 I became a cutter with Welsh and Jefferies in their Eton branch before establishing Manning & Manning in 1965, designing and creating suits for my own clients. In 1972 I opened my first shop in St Christopher’s Place in London, moving to Savile Row in 1978.

Whilst I am slowing down, I find it impossible to stop being involved in the work that I love. To that end I can now offer advice on all matters regarding bespoke or made to measure tailoring and tailors to anyone who contacts me.

For some old clients I will still be operating on a completely bespoke basis. Working as a personal tailor, I can offer one of the most competitive and highest quality bespoke suit options on the market, starting from £2,500.

If you would like to discuss any tailoring requirements through an informal discussion I would be delighted to talk to you. I don’t believe in hard sales talk, my work and suits have always spoken for themselves. What I do enjoy is helping people feel wonderful in what they’re wearing and creating suits that stand the test of time. If you would like some advice about anything related to suits and bespoke tailoring I would be delighted to chat.

I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to my many loyal customers over the last five decades. Dressing you has been my pleasure and privilege and I do hope our paths cross again through this new bespoke option.
